Hi Marlaina. This is Cheryl, the canadian one, lol.
Anyway, i'm glad you made it through the storm ok. It reminds me of the storm we had in october. the date was october 12, 2006.
It snowed like crazy, and it was heavy, wet snow, and the trees here still had leaves, so lots of branches came down.
We were without power for almost six days. We lost all the food in our downstairs deep-freeze, but luckily our neighbour got power the second day, so my dad was able to run an extention cord out of our house to the neighbour's, so we could run our fridge.
Where we live and a couple of other places were under states of emergency. I'll be honest, I was bored out of my mind, since everything I do for entertainment uses electricity.
Your comment about the radio station reminded me that one of the buffalo stations that's usually talk, stayed on the air the whole time, talking about the storm. People would call in to say what was open, how many power trucks they saw, that kind of stuff. Our closest AM station, which I only found out about through the storm, didn't seem to do much about the storm.
Anyway, I'm sorry this was so long, i'll stop now. Needless to say, october 12, 2006 will be a day I won't forget either.
Glad you're all doing well. If you want to keep in touch, my info is in my profile.
hope to hear from you soon,
Cheryl, from canada
